1 min read

DERBY — A single-vehicle crash occurred late Tuesday at the intersection of Holland Road and Nelson Hill Road.

The Vermont State Police responded to the accident, which took place at approximately 11:35 p.m.

Maria Young, 22, of Berlin, New Hampshire, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox.

Authorities determined that Young was driving too fast for the snow-covered road conditions.

While attempting to negotiate a corner, she crashed into a standing structure. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle and the structure suffered moderate damage.

Young was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

A Vermont Civil Violation Complaint was issued to Young for the incident.
