WINDSOR — The Windsor Police Department has arrested a local resident following an eight-month investigation into the illegal sale and distribution of heroin and fentanyl.

Paul L. Leveque Sr., 49, was taken into custody on charges related to three counts of unlawful sale and distribution of heroin/fentanyl.

The investigation began after reports surfaced that Leveque was allegedly trafficking these substances within Windsor and surrounding areas.

Authorities conducted multiple controlled purchases of suspected narcotics using a cooperating individual.

Over several months, investigators established probable cause linking Leveque to three separate instances of selling heroin/fentanyl, a highly potent and addictive opioid.

Leveque was processed at the Windsor Police Department and issued a citation to appear in Windsor District Court on March 25.

If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $1,000,000, or both.

The Windsor Police Department emphasized its commitment to combating the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the community.
