Driver arrested for DUI, cruelty to a child after vehicle slide-off in West Addison

WEST ADDISON — A New York man was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of driving under the influence and cruelty to a child following a vehicle slide-off on Vermont Route 17.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:14 a.m. on Feb. 16, when Vermont State Police responded to a report of a single vehicle slide-off.

The operator, identified as 39-year-old Buddi Tamang of West Henrietta, New York, displayed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for DUI.

A child was present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

No injuries were reported.

Tamang was processed at the New Haven Barracks and issued a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court to face the charges.
