Man arrested for DUI after found facing wrong direction on interstate off-ramp in Waterford

WATERFORD — On Feb. 14, at approximately 12:34 p.m., troopers from the St. Johnsbury barracks responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on the I-93 Southbound off-ramp in Waterford.

Callers reported that the vehicle was stopped facing the wrong direction and that the operator appeared to be impaired.

They also noted open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle.

Troopers located the driver, identified as 60-year-old Ricky Hale of Waterford, parked in a nearby driveway.

While speaking with Hale, troopers observed several signs of impairment.

Hale was taken into custody without incident and transported to the St. Johnsbury barracks.

He was processed for driving under the influence and driving with a criminally suspended license.

Following processing, Hale was released into the custody of a sober adult.
