MILTON — A routine traffic stop on Interstate 89 North led to the arrest of a 41-year-old woman on outstanding warrants and multiple charges, Vermont State Police reported.
At approximately 10:56 a.m. on Feb. 2, troopers stopped a vehicle near mile marker 101.8 after observing a motor vehicle violation.
The driver initially gave a false name.
She was later identified as Megan Washburn, a transient with no fixed address in Vermont.
Upon further investigation, authorities discovered that Washburn had two active arrest warrants.
She was also found to be in violation of two conditions of her court-ordered release.
Washburn was taken into custody without incident and processed at the Vermont State Police Williston Barracks.
After processing, Washburn was transported to the Chittenden County Correctional Center.
She was held on $200 bail.
She has been cited to appear in the Washington County Superior Court on Feb. 3 at 12:30 p.m.
She has also been cited to appear in the Chittenden County Superior Court on Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m. and March 18 at 8:30 a.m.
The charges include 15 counts of Bad Checks, Failure to Appear, two counts of Violation of Conditions of Release, and providing False Information to Law Enforcement.
