Troy man wanted for double gas theft at local store

TROY — A Coventry man is wanted for allegedly stealing gas from the Troy Country Store on two separate occasions, Vermont State Police reported on Dec. 13.

Karl Cloney, 42, has been identified as the suspect who reportedly drove away in a 2014 Honda CR-V without paying for gas.

The incidents occurred at the store located on VT Route 100.

State troopers received the theft report at 9:35 a.m. and launched an investigation, which led to the identification of Cloney.

However, they have been unsuccessful in locating him and have since issued a warrant for his arrest.

The Troy Country Store, the victim of the thefts, is cooperating with authorities.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information on Cloney’s whereabouts to contact the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks at (802) 334-8881.
