Randolph man charged with simple assault on juvenile after road rage incident

BETHEL — A road rage confrontation on Church Street led to the arrest of a Randolph man for assaulting a juvenile, authorities said.

Vermont State Police reported that the incident occurred on Jan. 18 at around 10 p.m. and was brought to their attention the following morning at approximately 9:43 a.m.

According to their investigation, Michael Byam, 34, engaged in a dispute with a juvenile which escalated to physical violence.

Byam has been cited for simple assault, a violation of Title 13 V.S.A. 1023.

He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windsor County, Criminal Division on March 11 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge.

Further details about the juvenile’s condition or identity were not released.

The Vermont State Police – Royalton Barracks are continuing their investigation into the incident.
