Salisbury man arrested for DUI #3 following traffic stop

SALISBURY — A Salisbury man was taken into custody Saturday night on suspicion of driving under the influence, marking his third DUI offense.

Vermont State Police conducted a traffic stop at around 10:08 p.m. on Lower Plains Road near the intersection with Plains Road after witnessing a vehicle commit a traffic violation.

Michael W. Lackard, 42, was identified as the driver.

During the stop, troopers noted signs of impairment and administered a DUI screening to Lackard.

He was arrested and transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing.

Following the processing, Lackard was released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Feb. 24 at 12:30 p.m.

Lackard faces charges under 23 VSA 301 for failing to register his vehicle and 23 VSA 1221 for the condition of his vehicle, with fines totaling $267 and no points assessed against his driving record.
