Driver escapes uninjured as truck plunges through ice on Turee Pond

BOW — A pickup truck broke through the ice of Turee Pond this evening, approximately one-third of a mile from the boat launch.

The Bow Police and Fire Departments responded to the incident, confirming that the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, managed to escape without injuries.

Authorities are currently on the scene, formulating a strategy to safely extract the submerged vehicle from the pond.

The Bow Police Department reminds the public to exercise extreme caution on ice, as thickness can vary considerably and change without warning.
