WESTMINSTER –– A 21-year-old New York man was arrested on Wednesday for negligent operation of a motor vehicle and excessive speed on I-91, according to Windham County Sheriff’s Office.
Avery B. Sholes was observed by Sgt. Norton driving at a speed of 104 mph in a 65 mph zone around 12:34 p.m.
The incident occurred on I-91 in Westminster.
Sholes was released from the scene on a citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.
In addition to the charges, he was also issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.
The Windham County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
