GUILFORD — A 2021 Toyota Corolla reported stolen from a residence on Pond Road in Vernon in November 2022 was recovered from a pond in Guilford yesterday.
According to the Windham County Sheriff’s office, the vehicle was submerged in the pond and had excessive damage to its front end as well as unrepairable water damage.
It is estimated that the Toyota has been in the pond since the night it was reported stolen.
The vehicle was removed from the pond by Marlboro Towing and processed by Deputy Corporal Gallup before the owners arrived to make arrangements.
The case is still under investigation and several items of interest were found in the vehicle.
No suspects have been identified at this time.
