WESTMINSTER – A Killington resident was arrested yesterday for driving under the influence of alcohol for the second time.

Police say Kristin M. Leggett was observed driving in the breakdown lane of I-91 in Westminster and failing to stop for a stop sign after exiting the interstate.

After investigation, the officers found Leggett to be under the influence of alcohol, which made it unsafe for her to operate a motor vehicle.

Leggett was arrested and processed, and then released on a criminal citation to appear in Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division on a later date.

She was held at the Southern State Correctional Facility until she was sober.

The Bellows Falls Police Department assisted in the investigation.

The Windham County Sheriff’s Office urges all drivers to never drink and drive, and to always have a designated driver or use a ride-sharing service.
