Victim identified after fatal Suicide Six race in Pomfret

POMFRET — A 56-year-old man from New York was killed during a snowmobile race in Pomfret on Saturday.

Police identified the victim today as James C. Darrow jr., of Moreau, New York.

The incident took place at the Suicide Six ski area at around 2:30 p.m.

During the snowmobile race, Darrow was traveling down the mountain when he left the course area and crashed into a tree.

He sustained fatal injuries.

State Police were assisted by Woodstock Rescue, Pomfret Fire, and DHART on the scene.
